Alive with Spirit!

Nestled in the rolling landscape of central Ohio, Templed Hills offers a sacred space beloved by generations — a place for personal growth, for authentic community, and for fun. Stewarded by the churches of northern Kentucky, West Virginia and Ohio, Templed Hills invites children, teens and adults to connect with God in nature and gather for faith formation, spiritual growth and leadership development.

The Hills are Alive! campaign gives churches and individuals an opportunity to invest in the future of Templed Hills — an invitation to ensure this unique place of faith formation and renewal continues to build congregations, strengthen shared ministry, and change the lives of old and young.

Together in Ministry

Reflecting a vibrant expression of the living Christian faith in partnership with Creation, Templed Hills shapes its guests and is itself shaped by Outdoor Ministries, which supports faith formation in and among local congregations, and provides vital opportunities for exploring faith in every stage of life —

  • people new to the good news of Jesus Christ find their first glimpse of faith
  • children find their God-given voice and learn the deep, personal truth of God’s love for them
  • adult retreat groups discern a way forward together

Outdoor Ministries engages faith in fresh ways, teaching alternatives to the chaos and loneliness of the world and playing a critical role in forming faith across the church.

Templed Hills also hosts the regional Disaster Response Ministry. Summer campers enjoy a rich an opportunity to be God’s hands in the world, assembling the clean-up and hygiene kits that help families and communities recover from devastating floods, tornados and other disasters. At Templed Hills, youth experience the present and future church as a mission-focused body of grace.

Forming Faith in Creation

The future stands on the ground entrusted to us today by those who came before. A precious natural resource, Templed Hills calls on us to preserve, protect and prosper our legacy — for the children and families who will visit for many summers to come with a gift to The Hills Are Alive! campaign.

With so many pressing needs in the world, why does a place like Templed Hills matter?
Because countless clergy remember they first heard God’s call to ministry while at camp.
Because Creation matters — and Templed Hills provides a place to rest and wonder in nature
Because dedicated natural spaces like Templed Hills provide a place for children and youth to connect in a fresh way to God, to their community and to each other — not across a wire or radio wave, but nestled in and surrounded by Creation.

Building on years of careful decisions, The Hills Are Alive! campaign supports Templed Hills’ goal to model exemplary care for Creation, to provide accessible and appealing accommodations, and to advance the work of the wider church by tithing our campaign to the UCC’s Shaping Our Future endowment. The Hills Are Alive! campaign will help secure a sustainable future for Templed Hills and the Outdoor Ministry that gives it life.
